Bodylite Gear is an Irish running brand focused on one simple goal, helping people stay visible, safe, and confident outdoors.

Running shouldn’t feel dangerous

Whether you’re a runner, walker, or cyclist, visibility is one of the biggest safety challenges, especially on rural roads and in low-light conditions.

Too many people head out in gear that simply isn’t designed to keep them seen.

How It Started

Bodylite was founded in Carlow by electrical engineer Padraic George.

As a runner and a father, he often found himself training on rural Irish roads in low-light conditions, early mornings and late evenings where visibility was limited and safety was a real concern.

Existing solutions didn’t go far enough.

So he set out to build something better.

Every Bodylite product starts as an idea, developed through hands-on design, testing, and refinement.

From early concepts to real-world testing, our gear is built with a deep understanding of how visibility, comfort, and performance come together, not just in theory, but in practice.

Vision Zero

Vision Zero is a multi-national road traffic safety project that aims to achieve a roadway system with no fatalities or serious injuries involving road traffic. It started in Sweden and was approved by their parliament in October 1997.

The Irish government through the RSA have put together a decade long plan from 2021 to 2030 which aims to try an get Ireland to meet the Vision Zero target by 2050. We at Bodylite are very passionate about Road Safety, and our goal at Bodylite is to help as best as we can to bring awareness to the improvements in road safety tech for pedestrians & cyclists.

Padraic - Founder

Padraic is an electrical engineer, entrepreneur, and lifelong runner. A member of Tinryland AC, he has competed in many marathons and has been running since his primary school days. His experience and technical background led to the creation of Bodylite Gear.

Martin - Manager

Martin, an occasional runner, boasts an official 5k time of 20 minutes and 21 seconds. Beyond running, he's an avid soccer player, with experiences spanning Ireland, England and the USA. At Bodylite, Martin takes the reins of operations, playing a vital role in driving the team's success.

Jaime - Fulfilment

Jaime, with a foundation in athletics during her earlier years, participated in community games through the local athletics club. Leading our warehouse operations, managing our product testing program, and providing excellent customer support, Jaime plays a pivotal role at Bodylite.
