Padraic George (Bodylite Founder)
THE FOUNDATIONS
Padraic’s running career started from a young age - he competed competitively as a sprinter from the age of 8 up until his teenage years where he eventually moved on to team sports.
Around the age of 30 Padriac came back to running where he started to ‘dabble’ in longer distance road races - specifically 5/10kms. As years went on he started to become more consistent and focused which led to improvement and an ability to be competitive. Padriac really started to enjoy the process of his progression and eventually moved up into the half marathon and marathon distance, where he competed in both the New York and Dublin Marathon.
As a father of a young family his running has always had to fit around his life commitments so he has found himself having to train at times of the day which lacked light and potential safety risks - which is where the origins of Bodylite began for him.
How the Bodylite Night Runner came to be!
Padraic George is from County Carlow in the south east of Ireland. He is a runner and a father of three young children. During autumn and winter he found daylight running opportunities are hard to get, so running during low light or darkness was becoming very frequent. One night while out running at night with a headlamp, he decided that he had enough of this, Padraic wanted a proper running light as this short term fix wasn’t going to keep him on the road running consistently for long.
Using his skills Padraic wanted a light designed specifically for running. He wanted a product that had a strong light at the front, focused on the ground in front of him, lights at the back to keep him safe and with storage for phones/music etc. There was no product like this on the market, so I began prototyping and testing during the winter of 2013 up until 2016.
The Night Runner belt gave him comfort and confidence so that he could go running on the road no matter what the time of day is.

Martin (Head of Operations)
Martin, an occasional runner, boasts an official 5k time of 20 minutes and 21 seconds. Beyond running, he's an avid soccer player, with experiences spanning Ireland, England and the USA. At Bodylite, Martin takes the reins of operations, playing a vital role in driving the team's success.
Jaime (Customer Support)
Jaime, with a foundation in athletics during her earlier years, participated in community games through the local athletics club. Leading our warehouse operations, managing our product testing program, and providing excellent customer support, Jaime plays a pivotal role at Bodylite.
